About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and creative SEND Marketing & Communications Officer to join our Marketing & Resident Experience Team within the Deputy Chief Executive’s Department.
This role supports the delivery of the SEND Communications and Engagement Strategy, helping families and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) access the information, advice and support they need.
You’ll work across Kent County Council and NHS Kent and Medway to plan and deliver campaigns, create engaging content, and build trusted relationships with families, professionals and partners.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and run campaigns that help families understand and access SEND services.
- Manage the forward communications and engagement plan to ensure timely content goes out.
- Create clear, engaging content for social media, websites and newsletters and will lead on the creation and publication of the council’s SEND parent newsletter.
- Use feedback from parents, carers and young people to improve how we communicate and what we communicate.
- Build strong relationships with partners across KCC, NHS, the local parent/carer forum and schools.
- Track and report on what’s working and use insight to improve communications nd engagement.
About You
- You’ve got experience in marketing, communications or public engagement and can create compelling content in a variety of formats, including video content.
- You’re confident creating content and using tools like Canva and social media schedulers and giving expert professional communications advice to a range of stakeholders on the best way to reach audiences with the right messaging.
- You know how to turn complex info into simple, useful and relevant messages.
- You’re organised, collaborative and comfortable working with different audiences.
